The net metering program is designed to help you participate in this clean energy future &#8211; and manage your energy costs.<\/p>\n<p>This program is available to any hydro users who generate electricity primarily for their own use from a renewable source (wind, water, solar radiation or agricultural biomass) using equipment with a total nameplate rating of 500Kw or less.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Net Metering?<\/h2>\n<p>Ontario&#8217;s net metering regulations allow you to send electricity generated from renewable sources to the electrical grid for a credit toward your electricity costs.<\/p>\n<h3>How it Works<\/h3>\n<p>Your utility provider will subtract the value of electricity you supplied to the grid from the value of what you take from the grid.
